Yes, DN fans - Yomi can play the viola. Not violin, VIOLA.

Got the idea over at the AzuInsanity forums by a fan of DN. Like the original idea, it exploded. So...yeah. She can play a viola...at least she can play music when the tranquility of the forest finally gets annoying or something. :XD:

This took a while to draw. Good thing the original suggester is also in an orchestra. She helped me a lot during the sketch phase. This was my first time drawing a string instrument...orchestra string, not guitar...First time pictures always call for simplistic poses, too, thus the standing pose and simple background.

Oh yeah, no cape for once so you can see how she looks without it. It's not like she wears it ALL the time... :XD:

A viola is more fitting. It seems more... Yomi-ish to me somehow.

That was the agreement made during the musing. Long musing...All that should be known is that viola + Yomi = Good instrument match.

Yep. Size of the instrument, size of the bow (which I just couldn't get in this, but at least it's in a perspective angle), viola can play a few notes lower than a violin, and it reads in an alto clef...or even its own clef. Violas are usually in the background music-wise, and because of their similar appearance to a violin, people always assume the viola section is just more violins...Oh, and the viola jokes... ^^;

Even violins and fiddles are different, actually...but this is about the viola. :XD:

Don't worry, I know my strings. :D

And indeed, the median pitch of the viola seems to feet Yomi well. She's not completely laid back, but she doesn't make a complete bold statement; much like the viola is between cello and violin, she's in between those moods.
