As if the news couldn't get sadder...

My sister just woke me up a few minutes ago after she got a phone call from my mom....They found one of my uncles - my FAVORITE uncle....the most liberal uncle I knew, the one who I could talk to the most about video games and stuff, an uncle who is also closest to me in age....unconscious in his bathtub with no pulse.

This is the worst thing that's happened to him recently.

See, he's a Type 1 diabetic, and recently, he's tried his best to keep his body healthy and stuff. Just a few weeks ago, he got an infection that Type 1 people can get. And the thing is...he ignored the symptoms at first. He even saw a doctor too late. His face was swollen and one side was twisted-looking (muscles). My family was worried about him, yet at the same time, we scolded him for ignoring it all.

And now look where he's at...

Damn, I hope he can pull through. Not only was he my favorite uncle, but he was a recognizable kid back when he went to high school (I went to the one he went). Lots of people know him here, and he's one of the favorite waiters at our restaurant due to his kind nature and such. And since they found him like this, the restaurant is now closed (hasn't even opened yet, but there's a notice) and everyone's at the hospital.

My sister called a friend of hers to let her know as well, as that girl has sisters who know him...I, of course, have let all of you know about this.

He's too young, dammit.

And yet, at the same time, this news has made me aware of what could happen if I slack off TOO much. It's another wake-up call, but at a more personal level.

......It's so quiet here...My sister and I are both waiting....silently....

DAMMIT. I wasn't expecting to update this quickly but...

He died.

Apparently he was found/sent to the hospital too late.

I'm shaking, yet the tears won't come out. There's a funeral planned either later today or tomorrow. My grandma's devastated at the moment. She's always going through the most pain. My uncles always have bad things happening to them, but this one was the worst...and the most unexpected. THIS uncle was the clean one, he was never an alcoholic or drug addict like the others.

So early....damn.

Okay, most of you know I have long since been in the acceptance phase, but keep those condolences coming...for the sake of my family, especially my grandma.

Anyway, we just got the autopsy report. My uncle didn't die from something related to his diabetes....he actually died of cancer.

And we didn't even know he had cancer to begin with. We didn't know, he didn't know, and apparently, even his doctor didn't know. He was the one who told us the whole face thing was diabetes-related. The face thing was apparently the cancer finally moving to his head/brain.

Man, what a way to go...It's bad enough it was cancer, but not even knowing he had cancer to begin with? Ugh...

Anyway, the funeral is Wednesday morning (the 28th). Please pay your respects at that time. I'd really appreciate it.
